Start your Engines ... High-level Agent Control (WS 2012/13)

Topic: Development of an intelligent control system / agent in context of a racing simulation

Where & when:

  • preparation meeting 1: 14.01.2013, 2pm, Cartesium room 0.01 (approx. 1h)
  • preparation meeting 2: 24.01.2013, 12pm, Cartesium room 0.01 (approx. 1h)
  • 2 weeks block seminar: 25.2.-8.03.2013 (9am - 9pm)

Credit Points: 6 ECTS

Target group: Bachelor (Master: General Studies)

Maximum participants: 30 (Minimum participants: 10)

Prerequisites: general knowledge of C/C++

In future more and more artificial agents will be available in everyday life. These systems must be able to interact with humans and to react to unforeseen situations in an 'intelligent' manner. In this course we will give theoretical background and practical experiences in the areas of agent modeling, psychology, and various reasoning techniques. Within this context small groups will develop racing agents (in the racing simulation TORCS: http://torcs.sourceforge.net/). At the end of the course the agents will be evaluated in a racing championship.
